Why I’m Running
I'm Ron McKenzie, and I’m running for Congress because, like many of you, I believe our country is in crisis. The issues facing our nation today aren’t just political; they’re personal. I grew up in a working-class home. My father is an Army veteran who has spent most of his civilian life as a security guard, and my mother works as a medical billing appeals clerk at Children's Hospital, fighting insurance companies daily to ensure kids receive the care they need. I am not a career politician. I am someone who understands the everyday struggles families face; not from policy briefs, but from lived experience.
Trump is aggressively using the power of the presidency to take care of his billionaire buddies and deliberately make life harder on everyday Americans. This is no time for politics as usual. This moment demands leaders ready to fight fiercely to protect our rights, freedoms, and future.
I haven’t spent my career working my way up through party politics. I’ve spent it solving problems, helping people, and showing up when it matters. In my professional life, I've helped organizations solve some of their most complex challenges, root out fraud, and build cultures of accountability. When the pandemic struck, I stepped up, working tirelessly to help companies transform their operations to keep their doors open and save jobs. These experiences are more than bullet points on a resume. They've shaped my ability to dissect complex issues, build effective strategies, and deliver tangible results. Washington is broken, captured by special interests and filled with too many politicians afraid to make the hard choices or do the work required to protect and advance the interests of everyday Americans. We need leaders ready to take action and bring real solutions. I’m ready!
My Priorities
Our campaign is about a "Do More Agenda," focused on delivering concrete solutions directly addressing challenges our neighbors face daily. My top priorities emerge directly from our community’s core needs: building an economy that truly works for working people; aggressively lowering the crushing cost of living burdening households; protecting and expanding access to affordable, quality healthcare; championing women's rights and healthcare; and supporting our young men by investing in mentorship, mental health and real solutions that give young men the tools they need to build a better future.

A New Way Forward
I am not entering politics through a traditional path. My life, shaped by my parents' quiet heroism and my career focused on solving problems and getting things done, uniquely prepares me to serve differently. I offer a perspective grounded in hard work, a deep commitment to problem-solving, and an unwavering focus on the challenges everyday people face. It's time for a representative who understands the urgency of our moment and is ready to take decisive action, not just engage in rhetoric. I am prepared to fight for you, deliver the solutions we desperately need, and ensure our voice is heard clearly where it matters most.

Our Do More Pledge
I was raised to always give more than I take. That's why our campaign has launched our Do More Pledge, which focuses on bringing real help to our community right now through pop-up health clinics, small business mentorship programs, resource fairs connecting families to services they need, and community volunteering. I believe if we're going to ask folks for their time, money, or vote, we should be pouring back into the community today, not just making promises for tomorrow.
Consistent with our Do More Pledge, I recently took time off the campaign trail to support the Newton County Sheriff's Department Back to School Drive. I individually collected and purchased backpacks and school supplies that will help dozens of Newton County school children. Overall, the Back to School Drive will support up to 8,000 kids in the county.
This campaign is about people and community first, foremost, and always. These are the types of things I cannot wait to do more of throughout this campaign.
