My name is Brittany Shadduck, and I am running for a seat on the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District Board of Education in the April 7, 2026 election. I am a mom of two MRH students (10th grade and 1st grade), a former teacher, and a leader in the corporate world.
WHY I'M RUNNING
I am running for the MRH Board of Education because I believe we have a responsibility to support our educators and our local district. I bring a critical perspective the Board is currently missing: the ability to bridge the gap between classroom reality and business oversight.
As a former teacher, I’ve lived the daily realities of our schools. As a leader in the tech industry, I manage the budgets and strategic planning required to lead a complex district. This combination allows me to ask the right questions, ensure fiscal accountability, and provide the stable leadership our community deserves.
THE WORK AHEAD
Following the passage of Propositions B and E, our community has entrusted the Board with vital resources. I am committed to using my professional background in fiscal oversight to ensure we steward those tax dollars wisely while preserving what makes MRH unique.
I will prioritize:
- Effective Learning: Prioritizing hands-on, student-centered instruction that supports every child’s growth and prepares them for the future.
- Fiscal Responsibility: Ensuring tax dollars are managed with transparency and accountability, with a focus on long-term stability.
- Supportive Culture: Fostering an environment where teachers and staff want to stay, and every student feels safe, seen, and empowered to succeed.
My commitment is personal. As an MRH parent with daughters at both the High School and the ECC, I see the impact of our schools every day. I am determined to protect the intentional culture that embraced my family when we needed it most, and ensure all students and families are supported in the same way.
WHY YOUR SUPPORT MATTERS
I am asking for your donation today to fuel this campaign.
- $25: Funds 5 yard signs to help build momentum across Maplewood and Richmond Heights.
- $50: Covers the cost of 100 sets of campaign literature for our door-knocking efforts.
- $100: Funds 50 targeted mailers to ensure our message reaches every doorstep in the district.
- $250 Supports a neighborhood "Meet & Greet" to help me connect directly with voters and families.
Your support helps us reach every voter in the district to ensure our board has the thoughtful, capable leadership it deserves.
