Sign this petition to help put and end to citizens arrest in every state. Granting citizens the right to make arrests puts the laws in the hands of untrained civilians therefore putting the safety of the general public at risk, especially communities and people of color.  If is lawful for anyone to take the life of another human being based on personal bias, and perceived or imagined danger then where do we draw the line. We are all then justified to be vigilantes and to take the law into our own hands with or without justification. Citizens arrests are archaic and it’s used as an excuse for people with ill intentions to murder without cause and get away with it.
