Dear Fellow Huntsville ISD Supporter,
The Huntsville Independent School District (HISD) has called a bond referendum to support the need for various additions, renovations and new construction to address projected growth, address priority maintenance district-wide, fund significant renovations to the district stadium, and allow HISD to realign grade levels to a PreK-5/6-8/9-12 system that is proven and implemented in school districts across the state. The referendum was recommended by the district’s Long Range Facility Planning Committee and adopted unanimously by the HISD Board of Trustees. Financial advisors are forecasting a 9.94-cent ($0.0994) tax rate increase as a result of the passage of this bond referendum. Election Day is scheduled for Saturday, May 1st.
Building for HISD Champions is a group of volunteer citizens representing the various communities of HISD who have organized to support the bond referendum. Our committee is currently soliciting contributions to support our pro-bond campaign. Donations will be used for printing, production and postage costs associated with a full marketing campaign including brochures, postcards, yard signs and development of other media efforts to support the passage of this urgently needed initiative for our students.
As a valued friend of HISD, we are proactively canvassing your support to help “communicate the need” for this vitally needed building program. If you and/or your company are willing to contribute to this great cause, we've made it easy to use a credit or debit card and donate online!
We thank you in advance for your generosity and support. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Respectfully submitted,
Building for HISD Champions
