Laura Yepez is a first-generation Mexican American and proud pro-labor progressive who was raised in a union IBEW household.

She is a small business owner, Local School Council Chair, mother of CPS students who has lived in the 1st Ward for 28 years. She is also the 1st Ward Democratic Committeeperson.

Laura is deeply committed to protecting and advancing the rights of women, immigrants, workers, and LGBTQIA+ Chicagoans, while building a more just and inclusive community.
